Limb Loss & Limb Difference

Peer Advocate Program

You Are More Than What Happened To You.

Life-changing injury, disability, or limb loss can affect far more than physical ability.

It can impact identity, confidence, relationships, and the way you see your future.

The Limb Loss & Limb Difference Peer Advocate Program provides lived-experience support, encouragement, and hope for individuals and families navigating life after interruption

Recovery Is More Than Physical

After a life-changing injury, diagnosis, or disability, much of the focus is placed on physical recovery.

Appointments.

Procedures.

Therapy.

Learning new ways to navigate daily life.

Those things matter.

They are the questions no surgery, therapy session, or medical appointment can fully answer.

They are the questions that follow:

  • Who am I now?

  • Will life ever feel normal again?

  • How do I rebuild confidence?

  • What does my future look like?

  • How do I move forward when life doesn't look the way I expected?

These questions deserve support, understanding, and hope too.

Meet Your Peer Advocate

Jarrett Vagle

Peer Advocate | Coach Practitioner | Speaker | Trainer

In 1998, a motorcycle accident changed my life forever.

I sustained multiple traumatic injuries, including a brachial plexus avulsion that permanently paralyzed my right arm.

The physical recovery was difficult.

The identity recovery was even harder.

Like many people facing life-changing injury or disability, I found myself asking questions no doctor could answer.

  • Who am I now?

  • What does my future look like?

  • How do I rebuild confidence?

  • How do I move forward when life looks different than I expected?

Over time, I learned that recovery is about more than adapting physically. It's also about rebuilding identity, finding meaning, and discovering what is still possible.

Today, I use my lived experience, advocacy work, and coaching background to support others navigating their own journey after life interruption.

My message is simple:

You are more than what happened to you.

How Peer Advocacy Can Help

Peer advocacy is not about having all the answers.

It's about having someone who understands.

Someone who has walked through uncertainty, adaptation, identity changes, and the challenges that come with rebuilding life after interruption.

Areas of support may include:

✓ One-on-one peer conversations

✓ Emotional support and encouragement

✓ Confidence and identity rebuilding

✓ Resource navigation and community connections

✓ Family and caregiver support

✓ Exploring new possibilities moving forward

✓ Sharing lived experience and practical insights

Understanding Peer Advocacy

What Peer Advocacy Is

Peer advocacy provides:

✓ Encouragement and support

✓ Shared lived experience

✓ A listening ear and understanding perspective

✓ Resource navigation and community connections

✓ Hope, perspective, and encouragement

✓ Conversations focused on confidence, identity, and moving forward

What Peer Advocacy Is Not

Peer advocacy is not:

✗ Medical advice

✗ Physical or occupational therapy

✗ Mental health counseling

✗ Clinical treatment

✗ Crisis intervention services

✗ Legal or financial advice

The Limb Loss & Limb Difference Peer Advocate Program is designed to complement, not replace, professional medical, rehabilitation, or mental health services.

You Don't Have To Navigate This Alone

Whether your life changed recently or many years ago, support is available.

If you're looking for someone who understands the challenges of rebuilding confidence, identity, and hope after life interruption, you're not alone.

Life Interrupted. Not Life Ended.
